Blyvooruitzicht gold mine is situated just outside Carltonville in the Gauteng province. The mine was liquidated on the 7th of August 2013. The employees of the mine has since received no salaries or services at the village they live in. Illegal activities from the zama zama’s (illegal miners) has been on the rise and a lot of the infrastructure of the mine has been stripped away.
